Position Responsibilities Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a
registered nurse and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs. The CNA
is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations and documenting observations and care
performed.
The CNA will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity and safety of a client’s care.

- Providing care as directed by a nursing supervisor, including but not limited to: bathing, grooming, oral care, dressing, undressing, toileting activities, taking and recording vital signs, and assisting with height and weight measurements, if necessary
- Providing care according to the patient’s plan of care, assistance with daily tasks, including but not limited to: feeding, meal preparation, linen changes, light housekeeping, providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping
- A current, valid state certification and in good standing
- Successful completion of a nursing assistant program
- Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Minimum one (1) year of documented experience is required
- Licensed driver with insured and reliable automobile
- Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Nurse Practice Act. Specifically, the nursing assistant will not administer medications, take physician’s orders or
perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a licensed nurse.Working Conditions
varying situations or in an institution such as a hospital. May be required to respond in an emergency situation.
Travel required. Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially
infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues.
