Engineering Coordinator
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Review and understand customer specifications, estimated Bills of Materials, plan view drawings, and single line electrical drawings.
- Assist in performing equipment selection for manufacturing projects including:
- HVAC units, doors, AC/DC panelboards, transformers, ATS, MTS, battery systems, switchgear, etc).
- Performing HVAC heat load calculations on occasion using software app.
- Assist with data entry for projects including the preparation of bill of materials (BOMs) for manufacturing projects.
- Provide engineering support to production departments during procurement stages of manufacturing.
- Coordinate with vendors and clients for equipment selection when required.
- Review and approve purchase orders against bill of materials for product procurement.
- Provide suggestions on areas of improvement to standardize and increase the efficiency surrounding production and procurement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to understand engineering documentation and terminology a plus
- General understanding of building and electrical codes: IBC, NEC, IEEE, and IECC.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc…)
- Experience with AutoCAD viewer, BlueBeam PDF Viewer, Solidworks Viewer, or other related software.
- Thorough understanding of electrical systems, including KAIC ratings, volts, amps, single line diagrams, etc
- Thorough understanding of battery systems including type of batteries, amp-hour ratings, etc.
- Knowledge of or proficient in using an ERP system.
- Ability to generate a bill of materials
Experience/Education:
Must have at least one of the following:
- 2 or 4 year Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, OR
- At least 2 years of commercial electrician experience or building electrical design, OR
- At least 2 years of related technical schooling, OR
- 2 years of equivalent experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to traverse the production floor as needed.
