R&D Technician (Electrical/Mechanical) ACPRO -Fontana

A key part of AC Pro’s business is the manufacture of sheet metal components, we are seeking a
dynamic and proactive R&D Technician to join a small team that is building equipment to help
modernize the facility. Working closely with engineers, this role will be critical to the success of the
team.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Undertake assembly of industrial machinery, both mechanical and electrical aspects
- Assembly of mechanical components, machines and equipment according to the design/drawings
- Build and wire electrical panels, with direction from engineers
- Support the engineers with wiring checks, startup and testing
- Performing piece part inspection and assembly inspection
- Perform testing and evaluations on components, machines and equipment
- Assist with installation of equipment and machines in production
- Manage workshop area, maintaining good housekeeping, component/material stock levels, tools and equipment
- Participate in design reviews internally
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Support production and sustaining engineering activities as required
- Support development of engineering department
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of machine building experience, including electrical and mechanical assembly
- Experience of proper mechanical and electrical assembly techniques
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components
- Experience of wiring industrial electrical panels according to UL & NEC
- Knowledge of mains voltage and low voltage components, switch gear, motors and drives
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Knowledge and experience of the correct use of hand tools, power tools and precision tools and instruments
- Able to work with minimal supervision and on multiple projects simultaneously
- Good level computer literacy, using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet Explorer or similar
- Strong English communications skills, both written and verbal
- Good interpersonal skills; strong relationship building skills
- Strong organizational skills; exceptional attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
Preferred Skills:
- Associate Degree or Certificate (Mechanic, Electrician, Engineering)
- Experience of manual machining (Mill) and/or turning (Lathe)
- 5+ years of machine building including electrical and mechanical assembly
- Familiar with PLCs & HMIs, Servo motors and robotics
- Experience of soldering
- Familiar with AutoCAD
- UL or NEC certifications

Pay Range: $20- $35 per hour (DOE)
