SUMMARY: Daylight is currently looking for a Weight & Inspections (W&I) Analyst to join our team. The primary focus of the W&I Analyst position is to determine correct classifications and weights of suspect shipments and issue corrected billing to ensure proper charges. Analysts must also perform density studies and handle agent changes, prepare spreadsheets, track corrections, and perform other administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned. Search for shipments with weight and/or description discrepancies. Processing and entry of inspections. Other administrative duties.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), college degree desirable. One to three years experience in freight operations. Knowledge of NMFC classifications and application of same. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-onone and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must possess analytical skills and ability to think quickly. 

OTHER SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Computer literate, PC and mainframe; working knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Must be able to type. Ten-key helpful. Ability to operate digital camera equipment and read a tape measure.
